Bulgari-Bulgari 41 Reserve de Marche - New Step in Line Evolution

The first watch model to initiate the Bulgari-Bulgari line was introduced 30 years ago - in 1977. The timepiece sported a wide bezel with the engraved double 'BULGARI-BULGARI' logo of the brand. The watch became a trend-setter in the luxury goods market.

Today the line comprises 45 models featuring six different case sizes and produced from various materials. Among the models there is a chronograph watch and even a tourbillon. The development of the tourbillon model required 500 hours of work - the timepiece was entirely produced within the Bulgari Group.

In 2000, Bulgari took over two Swiss companies most expertized in developing high complications - Gerald Genta S.A. and Daniel Roth S.A. Bulgari united the companies to create Daniel Roth and Gerald Genta Haute Horlogerie S.A. The new company has reached an impressive level of horological know-how, being a part of Bulgari Time S.A. established in 1980 with headquarters in Neuchatel, where the production of Bulgari watches takes place.

It was Gerald Genta, the founder of the Genta company, who greatly contributed to the development of the Bulgari-Bulgari watch line. He created the original design of the timepiece. Today the Bulgari-Bulgari is found among the highly appreciated classic watch designs. The Bulgari-Bulgari 41 Reserve de Marche is one of the recently developed models that inherited best characteristics of the Bulgari-Bulgari line together with distinctive Genta's touch.

The brand's logo is elegantly engraved into the rose gold bezel that has become a little narrower than the one displayed by the initial model, while the big gold-plated numbers 6 and 9, indices and hands strongly resemble the ones of the original watch. The dial of the Bulgari-Bulgari 41 Reserve de Marche watch is harmoniously divided into a few levels and segments. The arching upper part of the dial between 7:45 and 3:30 is either silvery gray or anthracite black, depending on the lighting. This slight change of color is explained by a dark background with a wavy pattern engraved into it.

The rhodium-plated lower part of the dial is placed one level below its counterpart. It reveals decorative engraving reminding classic Geneva waves. This area is either a raised relief or lined plane depending on the angle you look at it. The power-reserve arc is more deeply recessed and embellished with a sun-burst pattern. The power reserve arc features a small gold hand and a dark semi circle divided into 24-hour intervals with white printed numerals. The timepiece boasts 72-hour power reserve.

The Bulgari-Bulgari 41 Reserve de Marche is driven by the hand-wound Frederic Piguet Caliber 1103.4 with balance oscillating at a pace of 28,800 vibrations per hour. Bulgari watchmakers enhanced the mechanism's outer look by adding engravings, Geneva waves and circular graining to its surface.

The parts of the slightly domed case and the lugs are brightly gleaming, while the watch's case back is satin-finished, featuring six tiny screws and a few engravings. The timepiece provides supreme comfort of wearing. It comes on a brown hand-sewn alligator leather strap with a double-folding clasp produced from 18K rose gold and sporting 'Bulgari-Bulgari' engraving.
